Review: Favourite Soap & Glory Products
I recently went on a trip to Boots with the intention of finding a new eyebrow pencil. However, this ended with a completely unexpected Soap & Glory splurge - It was 3-for-2 on beauty products so naturally I couldn't resist! Aside from their Supercat liquid eyeliner, I haven’t tried any other Soap & Glory make-up before but these all tempted me and I wanted to share a little review on each with you.
I’ve been using Benefits High Beam highlighter for a while now and although I adore it, I wanted to try a powdered version for a more natural look. Glow All Out is a peachy pink toned highlighter which features ‘Lightscramble ™ lumisphere pigment pearls’ to give you that dreamy ‘moonlit’ look. The pink tone disappears on the skin and it gives you a soft glow, rather than an intense cake-like highlight like some products tend to do. Of course, Soap & Glory are the epitome of retro packaging, which I love, but it also has a practical mirror for touch ups and a nice sturdy case, which is always a bonus.
I tried out a mini version of this face wash before going on to purchase a 350ml bottle after being pleasantly surprised by it. Soap & Glory’s Face Soap & Clarity Vitamin C Facial Wash(that’s not even the full name of it, but I’ll stop there…) gently exfoliates your skin with ultra-soft pink micro beads whilst the Japanese citrus fruit Yuzu and Vitamin C brightens and tones your complexion. I’ve been loving this face wash and I definitely feel like it instantly wakes up and cools my skin morning and night.
I find it difficult to find a brow product that matches my eyebrows perfectly. I have been using the Anastasia Brow Wiz in ‘Medium Brown’ for a while but wanted a cheaper alternative – let me know if you have any suggestions! I find that too many products have that unwanted red tinge but decided to give the Archery D-I-Y Brow Bar a go. I was drawn to the 4-in-1 aspect of it, the clear setting wax and shimmer highlighter helps you to achieve the perfect brow. I have been mixing the two shades – ‘Love is Blonde’ and ‘Hot Chocolate’ to achieve a slightly ashy brown shade. It does last the day and the compact is perfect for popping in your bag, but unfortunately it isn’t the ideal shade for me so the search is still on!
Lipstick is undeniably my favoured make-up product so I had to try this Sexy Mother Pucker lipstick in the shade ‘Pom Pom’. It has a powder coat matte finish to create a velvety rich colour and the orchid extract softens and moisturises your lips. The lipstick is a deep raspberry pink shade, which I can imagine will be ideal for Autumn and Winter. The smooth formula allows it to glide on easily and the matte finish helps it to stay put throughout the day. This is definitely a new favourite of mine - if only they had more shades!
